SPORTS AND HERITAGE VILLAGE OF PUNJAB : RURKA KALAN
YFC :
My very recent field visit to Youth Football Club organised by our university had a significant role in transforming my mind set towards village life.
YFC initially started as a football club but presently they expanded there sports infrastructure including stadium, hockey field, basketball court etc.
This association not only provides students free training but also provide free food, shelter, education etc. Apart from this they also work for various societal programs.
They have started digital literacy programs to educate villagers about basic online literacy. They have also established various women's organisations and self help groups to promote women's rights.
YFC had developed a vast sports infrastructure for the youth.
The association to a huge step towards improving the health and sanitization of the village by introducing various healthcare facilities and awareness programs. We can say that YFC has created a sustainable society by empowering development in the village.
