National Science Day : A Call for Viksit Bharat

As we all know that National Science Day is celebrated on February 28th in India which reminds us of the incredible power that science has in shaping our world. You all must be wondering but why it is celebrated on this particular day? It is because of the discovery of the Raman Effect by the Great physicist Chandrashekhara Venkata Raman in 1928. He discovered that when a beam of coloured light entered a liquid, a fraction of the light scattered by that liquid was of a different color. Raman showed that the nature of this scattered light was dependent on the type of sample present.

But the Science Day is more than just remembering a great scientific achievement. Science is not just for scientists. If we think about it, this day reflects how science conitnues to influence everything we do. Science is everywhere from the air we breathe to the technology that we use. Science is the solution to everything as it helps us in solving problems, and create new opportunities that shape our future in ways we don't realize.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi wished everyone on this occasion today via a post on 'X' ; it is a reminder for us to use science in building "Viksit Bharat" (developed India) ; which simply means that that we need to use science to build a prosperous India, whether it's about improving education, healthcare, agriculture or technology. Now you must be thinking how an ordinary person like us can be a part of this revolution? Everyone has a role to play no matter your profession. For instance farmers use different scientific methods to grow better crops, or an artist also use different scientific tools to create art. We all contribute to to the growth and progress of our society.

Now how can we create a developed nation? It is very important to invest in education and technology. Students should be motivated to take part in the scientific activities to cultivate a generation of problem solver and critical thinkers. Using different technological advancements we can create a better infrastructure, improve our productivity and improve the global competition. We can also promote eco-friendly technology and sustainable practices to take India closer towards the step of a developed nation.

And it is possible if we harness the power of science for the betterment of all, creating a Viksit Bharat is not just a dream but a practical and achievable goal.
