Indus Water Treaty Collapse: An Opening to a War?

After the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that killed more than 26 tourists, which is believed to be carried out by Pakistan based militants, India responded with action and not words. The Indian government suspended the Indus water treaty. The treaty that was signed in 1960 and it was completely about the trust. 

It is very easy for both sides to just blame each other but this blame is only a distraction from the real issue and what needs to be done about it. There is a very big leap hole in the authority of both the countries and their is completely a lack of leadership and vision. What's the countries must understand that the rivals will not end just by suspending some treaty. Because the people who died will never come back and their families Will forever have to hold that in the hearts.

The government stated "If you keep poking, we are done playing nice.". We can pretend that this was just another diplomatic statement but we know that Pakistan is heavily dependent on the water from Western rivers for its entire livelihood, and if it cannot hold up to its end of the peace then why should India hold back? 

Suspending this treaty was not any political statement it was rather survival pressure because that's what countries do when they feel that there national security is being threatened. When the survival and the piece of a country is threaten there is no reason to sit back. 

Water is not at all negotiable resource and if India and Pakistan keeping the politics and pride the term and their actions the common people will have to suffer the consequences. Water is a resource that should be treated like what it is that is a human right not any weapon.

 well there may not be any war right now but we still cannot ignore the fact that this pretty could be a sign of something big that has to come. It may not be tanks or jets but there sure will be some long term tensions between both the countries and if this tension keeps growing every decision that we make in the future will only make it difficult to fix things between both the countries. 

This situation is a very serious warning and is a wake up call for the authority to act on it.
