Pahalgam Attack : Bad Luck or Ignored Responsibility?
On April 22, 2025 a very heartbreaking incident took place in Pahalgam,Kashmir. Five militant fired at a group of tourists resulting in death of more than 26 individuals. These attackers targeted the victims on the basis of their religion. This incident is also one of the deadliest attacks on civilians in recent years.
What happened is not just sad it was something that should not have happened at all. This attack was completely a result of failure of the authority that was supposed to protect the people. After any such incident the government makes big promises about increasing the security and protecting the people but at last only the words remain. ,
It is very upsetting to think of what could have been done to prevent this attack only if the authority had done its job properly. They were clear science that more security was needed but of course nobody acted on it, and it's always the innocent people who have to suffer the consequences. And the government just expect as to glorify their failures and move on without even questioning them.
When I think of this incident one more thing comes to my mind; that why is it that the religion matters so much that it cost people their lives? As the facts report the militants only targeted the males who were Hindu. In death there is no religion there are only families crying, wives widowed, mothers mourning and children orphaned. It should not matter where somebody comes from what the background is. A life is a life and every life matters because no one should be killed just because of their faith.
The blood they bled was not Hindu blood, it was human blood. Still the saddest truth is that no matter how much we talk about this issue, those who lost their lives will never come back there families will always live with a hole in the heart that nothing can fill. If we keep letting the religion dividers then their only making it easier for the violence to win. And we all must remember that before anything any faith, any race, any background or any gender, we are all humans and every human deserve the life of peace and safety.
No one is born superior to another and thinking we are better than someone is the root cause of any type of violence. The true strength is not about being superior to anyone it's all about using all your strength for uplifting everyone around you and treating them with respect and equality. This incident is a strict to reminder for us to change. To change hate into humanity.
